It was a relief to smell the early morning mist that still clung to the underbrush of ShoalClan territory. The tranquility of the dawn was a sacred time for Fallowstar, a moment to connect with the spirits of StarClan. That was, when he didn’t get so easily distracted with nature or prey running around. As he rounded a bend near the Treasure Tidepools, his keen blue eyes caught a flicker of movement. Perplexed, he tilted his head, his gaze sharpening. He could make out the pelt of Dragonpaw unusually without his mentor and so early. The ShoalClan leader’s whiskers twitched with curiosity and approached after passing through a wall of bracken. The black and white cat was caught tail wagging at the sparkling dawn light reflecting from the pools.
They were especially beautiful today and something about it made Fallowstar a bit giddy. “Heyy watcha doing? You’re kinda far from the training grounds.” He chuckled with his lips peeling back, revealing sharp teeth interlocked in a blissful grin. As leader, Fallowstar knew the importance of understanding his clan members. But it was especially the young ones, who were still carving out their paths under StarClan’s watchful eyes with a unique importance and their voices meant to be heard.
