Deputy - 34 Moons
Massive, long haired silver tabby tom with tufted ears and golden green eyes.
Water dribbling down his chin, the silver tabby turned his head as he spotted a familiar figure padding towards him, coaxing him to pause. As far as the deputy was concerned, the medicine cat outranked him. He might be the hot headed mess's second in command, but the role the healer played was keeping everyone in the clan in good health. That was only second to the leader's need to keep everything in order and flowing like a gentle jungle breeze. He didn't miss the direction the tom was coming over from, either, and wondered if there were news from Singestar. Ever since he'd returned from the volcano, he had barely seen the tortoiseshell. That fact wasn't unwelcomed, the she-cat being the only cat who had ever accomplished becoming relevant enough in his eyes that she could easily get on his nerves, but it was surprising nonetheless. He would have expected more presence from the perpetual thorn on his flank.
Grayflame's brows raised mildly in shock at Dogskull's revelation as the tom spoke. Along with that familiar twinge of annoyance that was so synonym with her. Because of course she would fall ill shortly after appointing him deputy. By the volcano's earth shattering eruption... Now not only was he to send the patrols and ensure ShoalClan was keeping their disgusting toes out of EmberClan's rightful lands, he was also to manage the clan before he had so much as gotten his feet wet in this whole deputy business. Well... metaphorically speaking, in any case. His paws were plenty wet as it went...
"Shit..." the tom rumbled, tufted ears flat against his head. A sigh of exasperation escaping him, the massive tom shook his pelt before turning unexpressive eyes on the medicine cat. "Can't be helped. Shall I hold a meeting when everyone returns to inform as to her condition and ensure no one enters her den in a bout of concern? I can assign a guard to her den's entrance to further contain the illness if need be."
There were more concerns that flew through his head. How long would it take for Singestar to recover? Would she recover? Had she already lost a life to this mystery illness? Did the medicine cat know what this mystery illness was? None left his maw, however. Dogskull gave him the impression of a cat who did not dawdle. Grayflame doubted he would waste his time with dramatic pauses for the sake of ambiance. If he had important information he deemed necessary to be shared, he would have said so already. Instead, the tom awaited for a response to what little he had worded. It appeared his morning routine had just taken a small detour after all.
